Recent Deck Transformations | Our Portfolio

Sanding & Full Restoration

This Kingscliff deck needed a proper refresh. It had been worn down by the coastal conditions this part of Northern NSW is known for. We started with a thorough sand to remove the old, dark stain that did not show off the beautiful natural timber underneath. We followed with a full restoration to bring the timber back to life and protect it for years to come.

As with every Deck Envy job, we didn’t rush it. We walked the homeowner through each step of the process, explained what the deck needed and why, and took the time to get the preparation right. That’s what makes a finish last.

The result? A deck the homeowner couldn’t be happier with, and a customer who’s already planning to have us back.

“Absolute professionals!! Very knowledgeable, explained the process, took their time and went over and above. Couldn’t be happier with the finished result, will definitely use again.”

A recent Backyard Deck Restoration project in the Northern Rivers involved revitalising tired timber boards by treating mould and resealing the surface, ensuring long-lasting protection and renewed barefoot living. This restoration highlights our commitment to preserving and enhancing outdoor living spaces wherever possible, rather than replacing boards that can be restored.

Poolside Deck Restoration

Included: Mould Treatment, Sanding, Oiling & Pool Area Clean

With all the rain we’ve had, it’s easy for a deck to get away from you. This poolside deck had reached that point: covered in surface mould, algae and lichen, and heading towards being beyond saving.

Thankfully, the damage was only on the surface. I sanded the boards back and they came up beautifully. Then I did a thorough mould treatment to kill the spores, not just remove what you could see. To finish, I applied a penetrating decking oil with added mould inhibitors to help stop it coming back.

While I was there, I also cleaned up the whole pool area, including the tiles and glass, so the entire space was ready to enjoy again.

I filmed this job from start to finish, with a time-lapse of the sanding, washing and oiling. It’s one of my favourite transformations because it shows what’s possible, even with a deck in this condition. If you’re wondering whether your deck can be saved, this is a great one to compare it to.

Keeping it looking new: Because this deck is so exposed to the weather, I recommend an annual recoat of oil. Regularly blowing leaf debris off the surface will also go a long way towards keeping the mould away.

“Life got ahead of us but Maruś saved the day and our deck before it was irretrievable. It looks fantastic, is protected and ready to entertain again. The photos tell the story.”
